Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ bestows inaugural Heart of the Community Award to 10 Georgia organizations

At an exciting luncheon at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center this week, Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ honored local organizations that have made a true impact on their communities with the inaugural Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Heart of the Community Award. Ten Georgia organizations were recognized for being at the forefront of providing access to impactful community programs and services for Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ members and the community at large.

“We are thrilled to honor our most engaged partners in Georgia,” said Taura White, senior director, Population Health at Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ. “We’re pleased to celebrate these meaningful programs and our ongoing relationships with our community collaborators.”

One of the many organizations honored with the Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Heart of Community Award was the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, which currently supports more than 5,000 Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ families per year. Through Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ, YMCA of Metro Atlanta memberships are subsidized, and families have access to Y programming, including hunger relief, adult and youth sports, camps and more.

“Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ provides innovative health and life services to all, and we’re honored to be recognized for programs that strengthen communities and improve the health and well-being of metro Atlantans,” said Lauren Koontz, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. “Our goal is to ensure every individual has access to essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.”
