College Park Skyhawks announce ‘Education Day’ game presented by Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ

The College Park Skyhawks and Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ, proud partner and mission-driven Medicaid plan serving more than 500,000 Georgians, held the Skyhawks’ annual Education Day game, presented by Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ at the Gateway Center Arena. The Skyhawks beat the Greensboro Swarm in the early contest, 120-117.

The Skyhawks and Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ hosted students and staff from local schools, with Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ donating 250 tickets to students and faculty of Atlanta Public Schools. Attendees received a themed workbook for the game, as well as thunder sticks donning the Skyhawks and Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ logos.

“The annual Education Day game is something we look forward to every year,” said Atlanta Hawks Vice President of NBA G League and 2K League Operations Janice Koon. “With the help of Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ, we are excited to bring the fun of great basketball and unique learning opportunities to local students.”

Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ sponsored in-game elements, including a skills challenge at halftime where school administrators will compete for a donation to their school’s mental and physical wellness resources from Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ and the Skyhawks.

"We were happy to engaging with students, faculty, and families from Atlanta Public Schools,” said Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Georgia Market President Jason Bearden. “Education plays a vital role in informing important health decisions, and we are proud to sponsor Education Day with the Skyhawks.”

The Education Day game was the second Skyhawks event presented by Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ, after the ‘Back to Basketball’ event held in the lead up to the 2022-23 season at Welcome All Park in College Park in October. More than 75 local youth participated in a fan-fest that included skills education, mobile gaming stations, and wellness checks.
