During the roundtable Maureen Corcoran, Director of the Ohio Department of Medicaid, presented Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ JobConnect member Joe Weikert with a proclamation from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine recognizing him for his hard work and success, and for his most recent accomplishment earning an associate degree from Clark State University.

Weikert attended the roundtable to share his story of overcoming addiction, obtaining employment and becoming self-sufficient to the point he was able to move off Medicaid and onto employer-sponsored insurance.

Corcoran was joined by Steve Ringel, Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Ohio Market President, and Ohio Reps. Niraj Antani and Jim Butler in congratulating Weikert.

“I am incredibly grateful for this honor and for my Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ JobConnect Life Coach at Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ, Eric Mata,” Weikert, a Springfield resident, said. “I could not have accomplished this without my Medicaid benefits and the other support services I received from Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ. Now I plan to help others who are in the position I was in three years ago and be an example of what they can achieve.”

Weikert is among nearly 2,500 members who are actively working with Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ Life Coaches and the Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ JobConnect program. Since its inception in 2015, Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ JobConnect has helped more than 1,000 Ohioans gain employment, thanks to more than 150 employer and community partners.

Ë¿¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ JobConnect will be expanding to all 88 counties in Ohio by the end of 2019.
